General
Full House Michelle/Michelle and Friends Started at the start of season 8 with "The Great Pet Project," it has kept Michelle at age nine (& in a 9th season) since book #5. Michelle and Friends centers on Michelle and her classmates, but includes other Full house charactes, sometimes in cameos, usually with one or two used more often. Like the Stephanie/Club Stepahnie, Michelle remains true to character, though she seems more mature and less mischeivous in the Michelle and Friends series. That could just come from seeing her next to snobby Rachel Tilly, who is introduced in the first "Michelle and Friends" book, "Pigs, Pies, and Plenty of Problems" and makes a great and believable nemesis. "Michelle and Friends" could also be seen as a separate series.
Unlike Club Stephanie, the Michelle and Friends series is not numbered separately.

The Michelle and Sisters series appear to be over; the Mary Kate and Ashley club has closed and apparently the twins are concentrating on a slightly older audience with their new Sweet Sixteen books.

Differences with series
Teddy is never mentioned. There is a Denise - but it's Chow, not Fraser. Her uncle is certainly not Little Richard as in the series, though one uncle owns the stables where Michelle rides. ("Sisters - How to Hide a Horse"). Michelle's best friend since Kindergarten is Cassie Wilkins - and since Michelle book three ("My Two Best Friends") Mandy Metz, as well.
Of course, the Michelle book writers wanted their own original characters just like the Stephanie ones did when they gave us Allie Taylor and Darcy Powell.

Michelle goes to the same school, but there are two first grade classes. (Denise Fraser was moved from the other to join Michelle, the same day Teddy moved away.) So, why not two Kindergartens? Indeed, the Michelle and Friends sereis says there are three fourth-grade classes. ("If I Were President.")
