Recent rumors about a Full House spinoff turn out to be false

Added: November 07, 2013

Earlier this week rumors about a possible Full House spinoff about the Tanner sisters raising their kids spread rapidly. Unfortunately, these rumors turn out to be nothing more than an April Fool's joke that got picked up a little late.

Recently there have been several rumors or confirmed plans for spinoffs of nostalgic shows from the 80's and 90's. The reboot of Boy Meets World called Girl Meets World, is highly anticipated, so it would actually make sense if ABC wanted to bring Full House back. These days nostalgia almost guarantees success on TV. Unfortunately, a reboot of Full House doesn't seem to be happening sometime soon.

According to E! News there is no truth in to the rumors of a reunion series, that would center on DJ, Stephanie and Michelle Tanner. A source told them that there's been no talks to Warner Bros. to develop a new Full House series. The rumors are also denied by an ABC source.

The reason several media reported this rumor is an April Fool's joke posted by Screenrant.com. Seven months after this Full House reunion hoax was posted, several media outlets picked it up.

The rumors now being false, doesn't mean the show's former stars wouldn't be open to playing a Tanner once again. Candace Cameron Bure recently denied the plans for a Full House reunion are not true, but never say never...

Earlier this year, Lori Loughlin said that there's no plans for a Full House reunion and that it's sometimes better to leave TV shows as they were and not do reunion shows. If there was a good script, she would be open for it though.

So for now there doesn't seem to be coming a Full House reunion after all. But you never know what the future might bring…
